IE window closes before being able to upload/attach files

I've read some of the other posts and I couldn't find a solution to my
problem. I'm currently in Iraq and don't really have the support I need to
help resolve my issue.

Whenever I click the "attach" or "upload" button on a web page, my IE window
closes. I was able to do so before, but all of the sudden, I'm faced with
this problem. I have Vista Home Premium (that's probably my first problem).
I made sure I enabled everything I need to enable, I've even allowed pop ups
on those pages. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Start Without
Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).
