I have been searching this message board for clues to help me fix a problem
with Interent Explorer 6 on an XP box that seems to be caused by some
uninvited guest but nothing yet has worked. I have been running Ad-aware to
remove spyware from the machine.

I can use Outlook to send and recieve email but IE's not working. I need to
restore back to almost a month back to get IE to work. Please note that there
are two user profiles on the machine and this problem only occurs with one of
the profiles.

Last night I restored the computer. I then updated Adaware with the newest
version with the latest definitions. Ran it, deleted the critial objects.
Downloaded and installed all the latest windows updates and rebooted the
machine. Everything
(IE) was working fine. I rebooted it again for good measure. Still it's
working.

I shut down the machine. I wake up today, fire it up. IE's not working
again. From what I understand the problem could in the registry and may be
caused by Adaware not correctly removing an entry. Could Registry Mechanic
solve the problem?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard

Ad-Aware doesn't catch everything.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Hi Richard :-)

You have a serious infection on your system. AdAware or AV's can not detect
these types of malware. Follow the instructions of the information below and
