IE sometimes does not show jpeg or gif files

I have two machines sitting side by side. One shows the jpeg and gif links
fine while the other just show the red x box or says the page can't be
displayed. Both machines are running Win XP/ SP2 with all updates. Both
machines are running the current version of IE. The Internet settings appear
to be the same with the default settings selected. This does not happen on
all web pages only some. The one I have been testing with is a my.yahoo
page where this occurs every time.

I believe this to be an IE issue but I am not sure. I am running a linksys
router and ZoneAlarm firewall. I shutdown ZoneAlarm and went to DMZ mode on
the router. I also shut down all other running programs. The problem
continued. I just don't know what else to try. Any suggestions will be
appreciated.
