ie shuts down when I try to browse using links

ie opens yahoo but using any links causes ie to close.
same with most sites
 
Mine is doing the same thing. I get one of two error
messages.
1. KERNEL32.dll error
2. URLMON.dll error

What is wrong and how do I fix it?
