IE shows blank page when clicking URL from other apps

when i click a url on applications like OE or ICQ, a new IE window pop up
with a blank page.

any idea how to configure to let ie show the proper content?

I too have the same problem and have had for several months. Have been using
Avant browser as it is far more reliable but it cannot be set as a true
default as many links will only go to IE6 which just shows a blank page. Have
also got the problem that since I install SP2 I cannot print using IE6, Avant
or Deepnet browsers (all based on the IE engine) as they all come us with
script faults when asked to print and it does not matter if you click yes or
no in the error box that appears as it will never progress to printing. Have
now started to use Firefox 1.0 as everything works using that although you
still cannot make that the true default either as some links again only go to
IE6.
