Hi there,

From some incoming emails I'm getting this error message:
"Internet Explorer Script Error".
"An error has occurred in the script on this page".
"Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"
And when I click either "no" or "yes", such mail can then
be viewed without any problem at all.

I already checked the following settings at my IE6 under
1) "Disable script debugging" = CHECKED!!
2) "Display a notification about every script error" = UNCHECKED!!
And needless to say that I already performed repair-runs on my IE.

But this fault STILL occurs and since it does NOT take place on
another PC of mine with same such mail, I'm now 100% convinced
that the fault is "hidden" somewhere "else" on my XPPro system...
but WHERE for heaven's sake??

So thanks very much in advance for any possible valid hints of how
to suppress this most annoying error message popping up at OE...

Refreshing your scripting engine might help:

or

Fixing your clock might also help.

Thanks Frank for those 2 links...but this script debugging I just
downloaded (even twice!) did not solve my problem, though...

So any way at all to NEUTRALIZE this pop-up error message??
Philippe
PS: Oops, sorry about my clock setting (he, he!!).

Dear Robert and Frank,

Wow, I got "it" now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, I simply DISABLED now "ACTIVE SCRIPTING"
at > IE > Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level
Scripting > Active scripting = DISABLE" (before: Enable)!!
Of course, this new setting might now affect some other sites,
but for me it's "good enough" -- at least for the time being (!).

But thanks anyway to both of you for having written to me; okay!

With best regards from Switzerland,
Philippe Borel

Correcting my statement of yesterday !!
******************************************************

Hi Robert and Frank...once again,

Indeed, although upon disabling "active scripting" this problem of
mine was solved...it did then on the other hand affect TOO MANY
websites which are using this script-tool to display some additional
content !!

But now I proceeded as follows and that seems not to affect anything
....at least "so far so good"(!?):
Outlook Express > Tools > Options > Security.
And there, under "Virus Protection"/"Select the Internet security zone
to use", I checked "Restricted sites zone" (instead of "Internet sites) !!

Hmm, to end, I might have to add that this described script error of
mine did actually NOT occur on websites I was browsing on the Net,
BUT on some incoming EMAILS having a combined text AND HTML
content integrated into them (as in "IncrediMail" -- for example).

So that's concludes "this topic", I guess...
