IE repair only works temporarily

IE seems to be corrupting itself. I frequently need to reboot to get
it to render websites correctly. This only seems to be limited to a
few sites, but includes microsoft.com

I run the repair program (control panel -> add remove -> IE6 ...) and
it only seems to temporarily solve the problem, if it at all.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
