IE Redirect issue

Probal Nandy

Hello :

We are hitting a variety of issues with Microsoft IE
various version with redirect "HTTP/1.1 302 Found"
response. After the redirect, IE is sending a wrong host
header if the redirected host is in the same host but at a
different port. The problem goes away if the request goes
through a proxy because IE sends a fully qualified
host:port/URL. However if it is without a proxy, IE sends
the host and port from the site it got redirected from
instead of the host:port of the redirected site which
causes issue. I am hitting this issue on various
applications on every version of IE and is wondering if
anyone saw this issue and know of any available patches.

Please let me know if you know any workaround.

Sincerely,

Probal

Any body has any answer for my question? Does Microsoft
support look at these postings ?

On occasion they (someone) does. They will not systematically answer.
Must of us are volunteers.

This is the only article I could fine. Hope it helps.

Sounds like you picked up some nasty redirector. Check your system for
malware with AdAware or Spybot and let us know if you still have problems.

MS support does not officially monitor newsgroups. The newsgroup concept is
"by, of, and for" the user community. Basically, we're here to help each
other. If you want a MS tech's help, you'll probably have to pay for it...
