IE Opens at startup--Bug?

At startup, iexplore.exe opens as a process and within a
second or two disappears. (I see this happen in task
manager.) Is tyhis normal, or is something trying to get
out? NAV scriptblocker becomes active at the same time.

XP Pro, IE6

Is NAV configured to seek updates every time you boot?
