IE on reinstalled Windows XP

I reinstalled windows XP. Now IE doesn't function. There doesn't seem to be
any IP configuration at all. An ipconfig/all doesn't return any information.

Did we remember to install our drivers? You need to install the chipset and
the ethernet controller drivers before you can connect to the internet. IE
tends not to work very well without an internet connection. It usually just
kind of sits there. You might try installing audio drivers as well.

Define "IE doesn't function"?

What problems were you having that you thought a reinstall would resolve?
Did you do a Repair Install or a clean install?
