ADP on a network...
windows xp
all other computers when a .pdf file is clicked on the pdf file opens in IE...
on the problem computer if the same or any .pdf file is opened the IE
prompts you that opening unknowen file types can contain viruses... on a
another line it calls the file a plugin for adobe...
then it gives you the choice to open , save , or cancel
if you click open it will ask you what to open it with, without the choice
to always file file with choosen program
anyway you do it its alot of click to view the file
why isn't it just opening the file like the rest of the computers?
and how do i file it so it does open it right a way in IE?

Hi :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

IE browser software defaults Acrobat Reader to "OFF" to display PDF files.
You can restore the setting to"ON" by finding an Acrobat document and then
opening it.

Then click Edit> Preferences> Internet> check the box next to "Display PDF
in browser"

Clear the Temporary Internet Files and delete Cookies.

If still no joy, try the information here:

To reset PDF File associations:

Open Windows Explorer (not IE)
Find and select any PDF file and right click on it and click on 'Open
with'...
If the program you use to read the PDF's in not there, then close the box
With the PDF file still highlighted
Go to Tools> Folder Options-File Types
Scroll down the list until you find the program that should open the PDF and
click it
then click the Change button, scroll down the list to the program you need
and click on it, then click OK and close out. Then try the PDF again.

Hope this helps.
