IE Links resetting

I set up "favorite" links across the top of IE. I've brought over the most
used links from the link dropdown menu. After a couple of uses (opening and
closing IE), all the links reset and then appear in alphabetical order, from
across the top and then down thru the dropdown. How do I lock my personal
favorite links across the top for frequent usage? If you know the secret to

If they keep resetting, rename them. Add A- for the one you want first. Then
B-Xxxx for the next, etc.

We do not send personal e-mail as a rule. Reply to newsgroups so others may

Is there a way to have the the links stay without renaming them? This was
working for me before(years and years) and all of a sudden(within the last
week or so), no more. They automagically alphabetize themselves. Could it
have been a setting some where? A probram install? A microsoft update?
Very annoying......

Perhaps it is related to your the setting of the Links parent folder,
Favorites? Are its .URL sorted? If so try dragging one of them
out of order too. I'm not sure but I suppose if you later dragged
it back into alphabetical order you could have that list alphabetical
but no longer have the Sort by name attribute set on that folder.
Then you would only have to deal with sorting additions to it manually.
Etc.
