IE Launch Issues

I have a couple of XP computers and they are both having
trouble launching IE6. One of them will not connect to any
site at all (I keep getting the Page cannot be displayed
message). The other is really strange, when I open IE from
the desktop or run command, the browser starts and
continually changes the url in the address field, but when
I use the IE shortcut defined for the Windows Update site,
it works fine. Virus scans on both devices come back clean.

Have you checked for adware or spyware?

You can download Ad-Aware for free and it is very user friendly. Do a Yahoo
search for "Adaware", it is from lavasoft.
