IE homepage changes

The homepage on my grandson's Dell Dimension 4550 WindowsXP Home, SP1, IE
version 6.0.2800.1106 goes to 69.50.191.52/688/ and, even though I reset it
to Bendnet.com in Internet Options, it reverts to the bad address everytime.

I have run Kelly's registry tweak at line 229 two or three times, but no
success.

Will appreciate steps to resolve this problem.

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,

Most likely installed spy/ad programs, these can help with the removal:

AdawareII www.lavasoft.de
Spybot www.safer-networking.org

From MVP Richard Harper on cleaning up malware infested systems:
http://rgharper.mvps.org/cleanit.htm

This one can help you avoid these programs from being installed in the first
place:
Spyware Blaster: www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Haven't been able to try your suggestions yet - computer won't startup
correctly now. Will advise later when Dell and I get it up and running
properly.

Thanks for your input!!!
