IE Home Page Virus help needed

I've attracted something that changes my IE home page to "about.blank," a cheese search page. Using Tools to change it back only works until the next time I run IE. The virus (?) also drops shortcuts on my Desktop for Fast Loans and Online Pharmacy. Anybody know how to get rid of this stuff? Thanks!

spyware ,browser hijacker etc. try spybot from
safer-networking.org and update .to clean out the spyware
junk and then go down about every 5 replys for the same old
constantly repeated information about hosts and general
scum like that.
