I have aquired some persistent 'favorites'. There are four folders that
keep appearing in my favourites menu. I have deleted them but everytime I
reload Internet Explorer the same folders with all their links will reapear.
I am running XP Home Edition. Could this be a problem written to my
registry? and if so how do I get rid of it.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

check your computer for spyware.

these pesky programs do something like starting applications when they are
not supposed to.

go to www.lavasoftusa.com and download ad aware 6.0 and then scan and clean
your computer for the spyware. Alternatively you can use spybot.com
(www.spybot.com)

Always keep the firewall on, enable ur antivirus scanner and keep it upto
date along with your windows updates.

You did not mention which ones they are. Some versions of IE come with
certain folders hard coded in like Media and a couple of others.

If that is the case you can just delete them then create a file under the
favorites folder with the same name you cannot have a folder and file ion
the same folder so it will not show up again!

If it is something odd then spyware is the likely source I like adaware but
make sure you download the updates before running
