IE failure in XP

F

FRG

System is a Viao laptop with XP Home
First Computer admin account all works correctly
If you add a Limited uses account all works fine
If you add a Second computer admin account all works except for IE.
If you click on IE it opens and says found site, and then stops.
If you try to close IE a alert shows that IE has encountered a error.

No matter how many Limited users you add all works OK

No matter how many Computer Admin accounts you add they all show the same
failure with IE.

Suggestions??

Thanks

Hi,

First, try reinstalling from the INF files. (IE)

Note: Login to the credentials of the new Computer Admin just created and
follow these steps.

1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type the following command
3. "rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\inf\ie.inf"
4. When prompted for the CD, Insert the windows XP cd

This fixes most problems. If not, see below the KB Article:

If all else fails, see KB article

XP

Also update you system with the latest patch by:
1. Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates
2. Enable the automatic updates to take place at a specified time. Let it
download and install the security patches.
