IE error in user.exe

Can anyone tell me why I keep getting an error message "IE
has caused an error in user.exe"? It seems to happen when
I'm typing in a text box on a web page or in the address
bar in IE. When I click "ok" it closes IE. I can reopen
it, but eventually it does it again and then it totally
locks me out and I have to reboot.
