IE is not capable of opening PDF files. You need to get Adobe Reader
(free from http://www.adobe.com) and install it, or one of the other
PDF file reader utilities that are available.

Good luck

consider yourself lucky. When IE does open PDF files (using adobe) it
gets nasty.

install adobe reader independently. And hope that IE doesn't to open
PDF files (in IE using adobe). Hopefully adobe will open them
independently of IE.

Adobe Reader only opens pdf files independently of IE if you set it to do so.
Open Adobe Reader
Go to EDIT then Preferences then to Internet and uncheck "open pdf in browser"

I HAVEdobe reader. In Firefox, when I click on e pdf, it opens the file
through the reader. IE used to do the same, but doesn't anymore.
