IE crashing from address bar

I am running IE6 with SP1, and when I open IE, type an
address, and press enter the window freezes. I am able
to click the close button on the top of the window, then
get the "this program is not responding - End now?"
message. However, I can access web sites if I use google
(homepage) to find the site and click on the link. It
doesn't alway happen, but often happens many times in a
row, then its fine again. Any help would be much
appreciated!
Cheers

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to any of the following

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
