IE crashes on startup and sends report to MS!

I was getting periodic crashes of IE, the kind where you get the big message box saying it can send a report to Microsoft and can automatically restart IE. This has now turned into always crashing every time and can never restart. What to do

I have W2K, I've reinstalled IE with the latest several times, I've cleared the cache, I've defragged the disk (1G free space now), I have plenty of memory, I can do Outlook and 'ping' and Windows Update just fine. Just can't run IE anymore

When I look at the report it's sending (and I'm SOOO sure somebody at MS is poring over these reports), it's just a big hex dump of what's in memory at the time but makes no sense to me

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back

I had the same problem, went to the first site you
suggested: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
and downloaded the CWShredder, ran the app and it cleaned
out the infection that was affecting my IE. Now my IE
works like before. I'd been suffering for a week having to
go thru back channels just to surf the net. Thanks a mill
