IE crashes frequently

When moving files, cutting and pasting, or just browsing
my drives in IE, it crashes frequently and my taskbar
along with whatever window i'm in disappears. I don't
get any error messages. I use my task manager to get my
taskbar back so I can shut down properly. What could be
causing this?
