IE Connecting ...

R

R. P.

My IE home page is set to blank, yet every time I bring it up, IE is
trying to connect to something initially and for several seconds I
cannot really enter any address into it. What is it trying to connect to
and is there a way to prevent it?

Thanks,
R. P.

Well, there are many things it could be without more info hard to guess.
One, is detect automatic settings on in IE setup. This will slow startup.
Has your browser been hijacked if so (and this isn't an ad, I get nothing
from it but PC Tools spyware doctor continues to be the only solution I have
found that is user friendly and finds the spyware first, before others even
know it exists, and removes it for the average user.) Also there was a MS
Net update that made internet explorer stall on loading for up to 5 minutes
which there is a hot fix for. Pete
