Hi. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this error.
Recently, my IE stopped working. I won't open up the
browser, the internet connection works fine, just not he
browser. I get the following information from the error
report when I try to open up IE.

Error Signature
AppName: iexplorer.exe
AppVer: 6.02800.1106
ModName: winshow.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.1
Offset: 00009901

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
Brian

I'm also having the same problem. If anyone finds out how to fix it please let me know. I have uninstalled and re-installed IE 6.0 but it didn't help. Could it possibly be because of this new virus?

Hi Brian,
I'm experiencing almost exactly the same problem. I also
find that Win XP seems to be running slowly at times.
I understand that Winshow is some form of "Parasite"
application, associated with certain pop-ups. It is not a
virus or a Trojan, so anti-virus sytems do not pick it up.
I also understand that it can interfere with the working
of Windows and can cause faults in Explorer through being
poorly-written.
I am reluctant to simply try to delete it, as i think it
may alter the Windows registry.
If you get any more info, then please let me know.

Steve.
