IE Add on Management blocks certain websites

Hello All,

I am testing XP Sp2 and GP on Win2000 AD. In particular under
Computer\Admin. template\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Security
features\Add-on Management\ ~

I have it set to block all except for what is in my Add-on List. In the
Add-on list, I first add a few that I knew were legit. It worked great
blocking crap like the yahoo tool bar, etc. However now if I go to log on to
Hotmail or comcast.net, the page will not even open.

I went back and added all the objects that were in my test downloaded
program files, and that still blocked access to the two above mentioned web
sites. Removing the restriction allowed me to access both sites.

What am I missing here? I've googled and KB'ed all over the place and I am
still clueless as to what I am over looking.

Thanks in advanace,

Norm

Hi Norm,

I can have enabled Deny all add-ons policy on local policy, however, I can
still acess www.comcast.net and www.hotmail.com.

What is the result if you only disable Deny all add-ons policy ? Does this
issue only occur on one client or all clients? Does this issue occur if in
a new user account?

Please let me know the details steps to reproduce this issue including the
add-on exception list. Please issue the command "rsop.msc" and save the
result, send the result file to (e-mail address removed) for research.

Best regards,

Rebecca Chen
