IE 7 issue

I installed XPpro on a couple of computers and then went to MS Update.
After getting all the updates including IE7 and its fixes on one of
the
machines IE7 just won't start. I'm getting the IE window and info
that
it's connecting but that's about as far as it goes. I tried to close
the window
but it didn't work so I opened the Task Manager. It turned up IE
doesn't
exist in Applications pane so the only way to close it was to kill
its
process. Anyone knows something in regard to this problem?
Cheers

Tried just downloading and installing IE7 again?

Tried to remove the update for IE7 first then installing it again
without the update and then uninstalling
it completely and then installing again with it's updates but the
problem persists. I'd preffer to have it
sorted out before the machine gets to the customer as I'm sure whoever
will the user be they'll just run
automatic updates and accept all of them including IE7.

Update: Just tried to disable some ad-ons and it turned up it's the
Yahoo! Companion
responsible for the mess. I guess I'll just have to live it disabled.

you may have
more covert issues
as well.

run "hijack this"
and delete/fix any/every
line item pertaining
to browsers and webpages.
