IE 6SP1 quits unexpectedly, no error msg

for about a week now, my IE6SP1 on XP Pro has been dying
suddenly within the first 10 or so URL clicks, sometimes
aborting when trying to startup. I have run latest NAV
virus checks to no avail, so I tried installing q816506
to see if that helped - no dice.

The problem seems to occur on just about any website, but
is inconsistent at best. Many times, the desired URL
starts to display, then all open IE windows abort.

This is extremely annoying (enough to make me try
Netscape), so any suggestions on debugging tactics would
be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, this happens to me whether it's an Acrobat
link or not. I've even had the problem occur when linking
to www.microsoft.com!

I wish I could nail it down to Acrobat, but this problem
is more pervasive and much more annoying. I'm not even
sure this message will post.

Internet Explorer Quits When You Visit a Web Page That Uses an XSL Transform
and Window.name Property

++++++++++++++

Or some parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit is with these
tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

or:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

Looks like the Spybot program did the trick.
I also converted to AR 6.0 from 5.1.
Hopefully this will stick now, many thanks for the
headsup.
