IE 6 web page buttons don't work

All of a sudden, website button widgets no longer respond
to a mouse click. Same thing with Opera browser. No
problem with Nescape.

I have SP1 installed as well as the Feb 04 security
update.

XP is up-to-date, and a complete disk scan by McAfee
found no viruses.

Any ideas why a button widgets no longer work?
