IE 6 was highjacked WinXP home sp2

The offending software/highjacking .exe and related software has been
eliminated. The problem now is the IE address bars are dead. Is there a
way to repair IE6 ?

Check your IE6 configuration by clicking on View - Layout. Try
changing the selected options and see if items you are missing come
back.

you could always install the IE7 BETA which is considerably better than
IE6.

There is nothing missing; the address bars simply are not functioning. Is
there any way to repair IE6?
