I have a computer with Windows ME that I recently upgraded
to Internet Explorer 6.0 from 5.5. Ever since then I have
had major problems. If I go to google to do a search I
can't click in the search box. I've gone to other websites
such as MSN and hotmail and I can't click in the boxes. It
recognizes my click but it doesn't allow me to input
anything. If I goto Help--About I get an error and it
doesn't allow me to look at it.
When I first installed IE 6 and the comp rebooted, it
came to the Updating System Files and it kept getting an
error like "can't copy file 1% to 2%..." I don't remember
the error word for word but that is what it was like. I
did have admin rights when installing.
I have tried uninstalling 6 but when it gets to the
end of uninstallation it gives me an error saying that it
failed.
I really need help. Format the comp is not an option.
Upgrading Windows isn't an option either. I don't want to
have to do a 'Go Back.' Either but I will keep it in mind
as a finally resort.
It also gives me an error when opening folders like
(C:\Windows) telling me about script errors or something.
My father would really like me to get IE 5.5 back on but I
think he will be happy if I can 6 to work properly. So
either will work. Please help me.
