IE 6 opening and immediately shutting down

IE 6 worked fine the day before. Now when I launch IE, I my home page comes
up but then closes after a second or two.

Does this happen only for your home page? Use Internet Options (start it
from the control panel instead of IE) to change your home page to
about:blank to test it.

If it only happens for your home page then the problem is there. Change your
home page to about:blank.
