IE 6 initial page load slow

After installing XP sp2 the initial page load for ie 6 is slow. When I use
the address bar to load another page it is very slow to show the drop down
history list. Also, when opening my computer, I now get the flashlight search
for a minute or so. After this initial delay the system works fine. Why is
this so slow.

I have run all the microsoft diagnostics, ad-aware se, spybot s&d, etc.
Nothing seems to fix this problem.

Well, I don't know about the rest of it, but to make the
initial load a bit faster, set your home page to
about:blank.

You could also be having a memory usage problem. go to
http://www.sci.fi/ and look for RamBooster, and see if
that fixes anything.
