I'm running Windows XP Home Edtion with 2 user accounts. IE 6.0 has recently
stopped working from the 2nd user account. It does not give an error
message, so I don't know where to start. Please help.

Hi D,

Check the properties of the shortcut that you use to start Internet
Explorer.

1. Find the IE icon that you use to click and start IE (on your Start menu
or your Quicklaunch bar or desktop)

2. Right click on the icon and select Properties from the drop-down menu to
display the shortcut properties.

3. On the Shortcut tab you should have values similar to this

Target="C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

StartIn=%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%

4. If they appear incorrect change them.

5. If they are correct or any changes do not work then

6. Log-on as the owner (with administration rights) and create a new
account. Copy the My Documents and Favorites folders from the account that
is not working.

7. Log-on to the newly created account and test if IE will start.

8. If this still fails then log-on with the administrator account again and
give the newly created account (or the old non-working account) power-user
or administrator rights.

9. If this does work you may like to delete the non-working accounts once
you have transferred all of the contents of their private folders over.

I trust this has been of assistance.
