Mike

I've downloaded the XP (Home) SP2 and IE 6.0.

However, IE won't display any PDF files, nor will it display some of the
content on some of the Web pages (just the image outline is there) such as
on some Ebay product listings.

I know this is a security setting, but I can't find it.

Can anyone help me to identify the settings to allow the PDF files and other
pages

Uh, you do have Acrobat Reader (currently, version 7.0) installed, right?

IE, in itself does not open PDF files. You need a third-party plug-in. That
comes with the free Acrobat Reader program.

Hi,
As Courtney suggested, you need to have Adobe Reader, at least Version 6,
installed. You may have to check the box at Adobe Reader> Edit> Preferences>
Internet> Display PDF in browser.

Regarding images at Ebay... check other programs that are running. Look at
programs such as ad-blockers, privacy/security programs, anything filtering
some types of content. Ebay's image display uses java scripting. Norton AV
and some other programs can be configured to block scripts. Check the
settings.

Might help- won't hurt... try a reload of the Scripting Engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download.

There are other possible solutions for missing images at

Hope this helps,

Hi Mike,

Is the Adobe Acrobat ActiveX control enabled in "Manage Add-ons" dialog?

If it's disabled or grayed out, unblock Adobe control quickly using this tool
