IE 6.0 Does not work

P

Pete & Terrie

Can someone point me in the correct direction. I get the following error
message when trying to access any web location using IE 6.0.2900:

You have tried to access a page that you are not authorized to display and
were stopped by the SAS Proxy. First check if the URL you entered was
actually the exact one you intended to use. If the URL is correct and this
error reoccurs, then please call Customer Care. Give them the URL that you
are not authorized to access as well as the page sequence you followed to
get to this point. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

I am using Netscape 7.2 and it works fine. But I need IE to update Norton
Anti-Virus and load Turbo Tax. It has worked in the past but I am afraid
that one of the automatic updates may have done something weird.

Help!!!

Did you call them? What did they say?

That does not mean that IE users may be allowed through.
Perhaps your administrator is blocking IE use deliberately.

XPsp2 has a different User-Agent. The proxy may not know it yet.

To see it enter in an Address bar:

javascript:navigator.userAgent

(Note the capitalization of Agent in the property name.)

Good luck
