Every time when i download a zip file it opens with Winzip, i do no
want that, how can i turn that off ?
Because the same is with a lot of spyware and dialup programs and por
bars it is all installed directly when i visit certain sites, it's lik
that there is a script or entry in my registry that says tha
everything that is visited is installed and runned.
can anyone help me, because i get like 160 spyware entries every tim

If you intend to download a file, right click the link and choose "Save
as"...

Try increasing the security settings in the browser.
Open Internet Explorer and
Tools>> Options>> Security

Go to Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options... | File Types | select the zip file type | Advanced | select open | make sure that Confirm open after download is checked. That should take care of it. But this issue may come back if WinZIP has a setting in its options that undoes this.

i do not want to let it be opened by winzip at all.

I just want when i click it with my LEFT mouse button, to download, an
tell me where to save it, i do not want to open it, i do not know wher
to turn that off

Yes, but it didn't help, ZIP downloads are still opened when i try t
save them.
I can normally use the right mouse button, sometimes this cannot b
done and you HAVE to use the left mouse button, but now it just open
the file right away, there must be a option in the registry that tell
IE to open Zip files with winzip when you download with the left mous
button

madmeg

Not sure but if you check confirm open on download for zip files that is what will happen.
