Idiot Needs Help

Thats me.

I have installed a new version of XP over my existing one. I now have new
directories for my personal files. On my hard-drive I now have my old
directory called 'Dennis' which I cannot get access to...

(D:\documents and settings\Dennis is not accessable.
Access is denied)

....and a new directory called 'Dennis.REBORN' which I can get access to but
has none of my saved files in it.

I know I have been stupid but is there any way I can access the old
directory.

You need to take ownership of the files. Take a look here for
the procedure:

Good luck
