Is there a technique or tool or site or something for
identifying processes shown in system monitor - what is
purpose or application requiring process?

I'd like to be able to monitor so can insure dont have a
lot of unecesary garbage bogging down machine and possibly
as aid in troubleshooting.

I saw knowlege base artical about enabling process ID but
nothing on associating process with application or purpose.

Thanks.
