IDE to SATA Data and Power Conversion

Like a moron I accidentally ordered 2 IDE drives instead of SATA.... I
don't really wanna pay newegg 28 bucks to restock and then buy new
ones(which i may end up having to do i guess).... I've been looking
into converting IDE to SATA... and i've found neat products like these.

http://www.granitedigital.com/catalog/pg52_satabridgeboards.htm

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=339900&pfp=search&tabtype=pi#moreinfo

Now here's my problem... I don't have IDE power in my shuttle. I've
used them all up. i do however have SATA power prerun and i need a
converter that plugs directly into my hd(female) and then into the SATA
cables that are already nicely run thru my shuttle(male).

now if i got my genders messed up i'm sorry, those sometimes confuse
me.

does such a cable exist? i've searched EVERYWHERE i can think of on
google and froogle both.... no luck.

anybody have any ideas for me?

You've got to be kidding. Call Newegg and talk to them about exchanging
the cables. Otherwise just order the correct cables. Either way $28 is
cheaper than to McGyver a IDE/SATA connection.

He bought drives, not cables.

But I'd still call and ask.

Duh .drives???? Um, um, right.
Actually makes more sense to exchange them especially if the boxes are
unopened. I'd even ask the manufacturer, Seagate, Hitachi, etc if they
would exchange the drives.

IDEs are 100mb/sec host transfer while SATAs are 150/300 right?

You dont know that there are any 'boxes' involved, or that he
didnt notice the problem when he looked at the cable connectors.

Fat chance.

Irrelevant. The transfer rate is determined by the drive physical
characteristics, the rotation rate and the sectors per track.
