ID NUMBERS THAT LEAD WITH ZEROS

i am trying to enter my clients into excel. i want to have one cell that list
them by name and one cell that lists them by there id numbers. all of the id
numbers start with 1 to 4 zeros and excel keeps dropping the zeros. how do i
get excel to display these leading zeros. id numbers look like this example,
000168810 but excel displays it as 168810.
 
Just give it a custom format of 0000000000. As many as you want. Now you
don't even have to type the leading 0.
