I'm using a W2000 maching as host machine for ICS and I
want to acces the net from an XP machine. When I launch
explorer in rhe XP machine it looks for a dial-up
connection. How do I set up the XP machine to look for
access via the host machine ?

Michael

You have the option for "automatically dial internet connection" setting
selected in IE. To disable it, go to IE properties- Connection Tab and
select the radio button for "Never dial a connection".

Provided your network is working, you only have set the XP machine to get an
IP address automatically from the W2K machine. ICS will take care of the
rest....and IE will connect to the internet.
