I have been using ICS under Windowos 2000 Professional at
home for several years now with not problem at all.
Suddenly, whenever I enable ICS, I lose mouse accuracy or
control then my system either slows to a crawl or locks up
completely. I haven't made other changes to the system. I
have installed a new card, checked for resource conflicts,
etc.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on a solution?

Thank you!

Rach:

How do you connect to the Internet and who is your ISP ?

The answer is simple...dump ICS altogether !

Get a DSL/Cable Router such as the Linksys BEFSR41. Such a device has many benefits such
as, but not limited to....

4 port 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet switch
Simplistic FireWall
DHCP server to provide IP addresses to LAN nodes.
Allows sharing ISP IP address amongst up to 253 platforms including Playstation/2, XBox and
other game platforms
Frees up PC resources
Only one NIC needed in each LAN platform

As for WHO is the ISP, its just a matter of the ISP's acceptance and support of DSL/Cable
Routers. One reason for the query is that some cable ISPs tie the account to the MAC
address of the initially setup PC. If this is the case, the DSL/Cable Router allows you to
manually enter that MAC address of that PC into the WAN address of the Router such that the
Router will work on their network.
