ICS Help

I've setup a WIN2K PRO computer for internet sharing
(using ICS) on our network. To make it work i configured
on each of the client-pc the DNS of our ISP.

Now the login time to our DC took 10+ mins. if i
chose "obtain dns server address automatically" the login
time went back to normal but the ICS does not work.

any help is welcome..

Thanks,

ross

ICS in a domain environment doesn't always work well. You may want to
consider running RRAS/NAT on a server instead.
The problem with ICS in a domain is that normally the clients are set to
automatically get their IP settings (including the DNS server) and the ICS
host acts as a DHCP server and assigns its own address as the default
gateway and DNS server.

You may get around this by statically assigning your internal DNS server
that has your domain records (your DC probably) to your clients and
configuring your DNS server to forward to your ISP.
