ics client will not connect to web

Host windows xp pro running ICS over std intel network
card using a 5 port hub. Connected to the hub is a
linksys wap 11 wireless access point. The notebook
client using a wireless pc card can see the other members
of the workgroup and access files. The network
connections of the client shows the active shared
connection. The network connections page of the host
shows the active connection as shared. Problem is, not
matter how I run the ics wizard on the client notebook,
it will not access any web page or email server online.
Only a "cannot connect" error displays on internet
explorer. How do I get explorer and outlook to use the
connection that both host and client show as active.
the shared connection is a dial up acct. This setup
worked fine until (I had to reinstall windows on the host
computer.

Thanks

I have the same problem, motherboard/processor went bad
had to reinstall winxp. Now when I try to share my
internet connection I get this;

Net Connection - service or dependency group failed to
start.

Sorry but I haven't found an answer yet.

These tests should help find the problem:

1. On the host, right click the local area network connection and
click Status | Support | Details. It should show:

IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: none
DNS Server = none

2. On the notebook client, right click the local area network
connection and click Status | Support | Details. It should show:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1

3. If #1 and #2 are right, open a command prompt window on the
notebook client and enter these lines. Each one should get four
replies:

ping 192.168.0.1
ping 216.239.39.100
ping www.google.com
