Using XP. When I'm using Outlook Express, the icons/text at the top of the
toolbar disappear. If I close the program and open it back up, they
reappear. Is there a fix for this bug?

Thanks.

Hi, Jack.

Do you mean that the Menu Bar disappears? That's the line immediately below
the blue Title Bar. It starts with File and ends with Help is almost every
window in Windows.

Or do you mean the Toolbar? That one typically has text and icons for Write
Message, Reply, Send/Receive, etc. If you right-click on either the Menu
Bar or the Toolbar, you should see a drop-down menu where you may turn the
Toolbar and Views bar on and off. If you right-click on the Toolbar, the
drop-down menu includes an option to Customize...; click this and you can
add icons for several other functions, such as Next Folder or Sync All. You
can also choose whether or not to show text or icons only.

I've not seen this "bug" reported by others. Perhaps your OE files are
damaged. To fix them, you can run the System File Checker. At the Run
prompt, enter: sfc /scannow

SFC will compare each of your WinXP operating system files (including OE6)
with the "known good" copies held in your on-disk cache and replace any
missing or damaged ones. Have your WinXP CD-ROM handy; SFC probably will
need to see that.

If that doesn't fix it, post back with more details of exactly which bar is
disappearing and what seems to trigger the disappearance.

Sounds like a "incorrect video adapter driver" problem. Try getting a
more recent driver for the video card from the manufacturers web site.
