Icons partially off desktop and resolution blurry

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I'm running XP Home sp2 and all my drivers as far
as I am aware are upto date. I recently visted family and took my tower with
me. I hooked up my tower to their 15" monitor and immediately noticed that
the screen was slightly blurry and that the desktop was completely full of my
desktop shortcuts and some were either partially visable on the screen or
missing altogether. Also everthing seems to be a lot bigger. I have since
returned to my home and reconnected back to my 17" monitor and the settings
are still exactly the same. The current display setting are 1024 x 768. I
would contact my vendor for tech support, but they have now gone bust. I'm
lost and don't know what to do next. Any help would be very gratefully
appreciated.

Open Display in Control Panel. On the Settings tab, click Advanced. On the General tab, in the DPI setting list, click the dots per
inch (dpi) setting you want to use. If you choose Other in the DPI setting list, you can set custom options
