Hi, after booting and logging on, some system tray items
do not appear (bluetooth, battery, volume...)
When I log off and on again (with same or with another
account) they show up!

anybody an idea?

Thx

Oli, I think the system tray has a limit of 4-5 icons. The rest show up
randomly. So if you have more than 4-5 Startup programs the icons are not
all going to show up. That's my theory. A Msvp may weigh in on this.

Known XP bug that likely started with a MS Update fix for something
else.

Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?

Uninstall UPnP from Add/Remove Windows Components is the one that
works for me. After a reboot they all come back. I reinstall the
components. Wait till the next time it happens. :(
