icons in system tray keep turning off

after i had rebooted several days ago several icons in the system tray
keep getting turned off upon reboot, the icons affected are my
antivirus, mouse suite, sound, and keyboard...i have tried going back
to a saved registry but it didnt work and also used the repair console
but nothing is helping as when i reboot the icons are missing again and
the programs arent working

nothing in the event viewer except for aol problems

An AV scan is totally different


I scanned with spybot search and destroy, pest patrol, xoftspy, and
microsoft antispyware, av was done with avast pro all are up to date
and nothing was found, online scan was with panda

I'll assume you havent inadvertantly turned off anything in msconfig?
If not, locate your AV 'exe' files eg, then check Running Processes to see
if its running
or what happens if you start your AV manually?

if i start it manually it stays until rebooting, i have not turned off
anything in msconfig this just started when i had rebooted a couple
days ago

Is your AV shown in msconfig, allthough it can be a little difficult to work
out what should be there.
Or if you reinstall one of your dissappearing apps, does it then stick?
