icons have changed their association

I am running Win2k and many of my application icons have changed their association. The shortcuts still point to the correct executable and work. For example. Word associates with the IE icon.

Hey,
Most likely just a corrupted icon cache. You could look for the icon
cache file, delete and reboot or just resize your 'icon size' on your
display properties' appearance tab (in the item list box). Change it from
31px to 32px, for example.

right click on the desktop, go to properties, effects and
click on default icon. hope that helps!!
