We don't know what you did either and you've provided no information about
your computer so I'm not sure how we can help. As a wild guess, right-click
on an empty area of the Desktop. Left-click on the Arrange icons and you'll
see its submenu. At the bottom of that submenu is an option to show the
Desktop icons. Click on it to put a checkmark next to it. Apply/OK out.
